Yoga and Meditation Classes

The level and content of the yoga classes will be largely be led by the interests and needs of those on the retreat. I have a good knowledge of meaning that can be brought to and expressed in the different yoga positions and will introduce this into the class.

I have found at the beginning the main focus is often relaxation and letting go. Then the need to develop a conscious awareness of the relationship we have with our bodies and to learn how to work and move the body in a beneficial and productive way so as to avoid injury and strengthen the lower and middle back areas.

After this we can start to work more strongly with the body and more deeply with the ideas behind the positions. By the end of the time I hope that you will feel you have learnt a lot and learnt it so well that you can bring the ideas home with you to further your practice. Where ever you are in your practice I am confident that I will be able to lead you to further your knowledge and skills.

If there is interest it is also possible to work with various concentration and observation excersises that can aid, in the long term, the art and skills needed to reach a state of meditation.
