I Yoga

halfmoon

I-yoga is based on the idea that people have a physical body, a soul and also spiritual and eternal parts to their being. Rudolf Steiner first termed the spiritual part the "I", the individual self.

An aim of my teaching is to offer the ability to build and awareness of and explore all three of these planes of our existence and thereby enable the expanded and enriched possibilities of shaping life with meaning.

The breath and its meaning will also be explored in the classes with the aim of encouraging a freeing and natural flow to the breathing.

Each position with time can become a creative and individual expression that can be experienced afresh every time it is practiced and because each position has a pure and qualitative aspect profound learning and development is possible.

This all sounds very profound (and it is !) but its beauty is also in its simplicity. It is something that is accessible to everyone. Everyone can learn how to relax and everyone has the capacity to build ideas and to imagine possibilities and new concepts and then bring them into form in the body. With time this creative activity can be something that can be brought into all areas of life.

The healing aspects of working in this way are very far reaching. Disease is usually a result of bad habits and patterns. This way of practicing enables release from old structures and offers people the tools to realise their potential.
